To ensure the highest quality presentation, when ordering a pet portrait or limited edition piece, we work with a trusted local framing specialist offering a curated selection of frame finishes and mount options.
This allows each artwork to complement both traditional and contemporary interiors. Please note that framing will increase production time.
Framing is available as an additional service and is quoted individually based on size and finish selected.

Choosing the Perfect Photo for Your Pet Portrait
Harriet works directly from your chosen reference photograph, carefully drawing and painting from the image to achieve a hyper-realistic and accurate result. For this reason, the quality, angle, and lighting of your photo are essential in creating a successful portrait.
To ensure the best possible outcome, please follow these guidelines, featuring our beautiful model, Maggie:
✓ Ideal Photo Guidelines
Face and neck clearly visible
Sitting or standing position
Facing the camera (or in the pose you’d like captured)
Photo taken at eye level
Natural, even lighting (no filters)
Close-up with facial features clearly defined
For side profiles: features fully visible and well lit
Harriet studies and references the photograph closely to capture likeness, structure, and expression, so clear detail is key.
✘ Less Suitable Examples
Even beautiful photographs may not translate well into a portrait. For example:
Taken from above, with the neck hidden
Lying down with chest and structure not visible
Eyes closed
Poor or harsh lighting
Taken from too far away
These angles can distort proportions or limit visible detail,
making it difficult to achieve the refined and lifelike finish Harriet aims for.
