A woman holding a small dog in a cozy living room with natural light coming through a large window. The room features a beige tufted sofa, a tall lamp with a shade, a large leafy plant, and a mounted deer skull with antlers on the wall.
The photo shows a top-down view of a person's legs wearing black leggings and beige rain boots standing on green grass with fallen brown leaves.
A woman crouching down and petting a small brown puppy, in front of a metal fence with two horses wearing raincoats behind it. The horses are in a muddy field, and the woman is smiling. The sky is overcast.

Haz Artwork

Harriet Dunlop is a designer and artist based in Edinburgh, with a love of the countryside, animals and making things that feel worth keeping.

Growing up in rural Northumberland, surrounded by landscapes and wildlife, left a lasting impression, and that connection runs through everything she creates. There's something about the countryside and the animals in it that she feels a real pull to capture and preserve, and that's what drives the art side of her work. She mainly works in acrylic paints, creating wildlife prints and pet portrait commissions that feel personal rather than decorative.

Harriet's dog Maggie is a big part of why pet portraits matter to her. There's a connection people have with their animals that's hard to put into words, and getting that right in a piece is something she takes seriously.

By day, Harriet is a lead product designer in financial services, working on innovative digital products, service design and strategy. The same instincts run through both, attention to detail, understanding people, and making something that genuinely works for whoever it's made for.

That crossover means she's open to creative projects beyond portraits and prints too. From book illustrations to design work for businesses, she enjoys the space where art and design thinking meet.
