Harriet Dunlop is a designer and artist based in Edinburgh, working across product design, illustration and painting.

Growing up in rural Northumberland gave her a lasting connection to landscapes, wildlife and the outdoors, which still influences much of her creative work today. Alongside her design career, she creates acrylic wildlife pieces and pet portraits, with a focus on capturing character and creating work that feels personal and lasting.

Her dog, Maggie, has played a big part in shaping that interest. Harriet knows how much personality and meaning people attach to their animals, and that understanding sits at the heart of her portrait work.

By day, Harriet is a Lead Product Designer in financial services, working across digital products, service design and strategy. The same principles carry across both disciplines: understanding people, paying attention to detail and making something thoughtful, useful and well crafted.

She also takes on creative work beyond portraits and prints, including illustration and design projects where visual storytelling and design thinking can come together.
